𝗖𝗢𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗘 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | LPC Students gain Scam Awareness Skills through Scam Ready ASEAN Partnership

Limay Polytechnic College (LPC) continues to strengthen digital awareness and responsible technology use among its students through the implementation of its partnership with Scam Ready ASEAN, which recently conducted a Scam Awareness Program for first-year students.
Held on September 24–25, 2026, at the LPC Computer Hub, the program was facilitated by Ms. Christine Baguio of Scam Ready ASEAN and delivered to first-year students enrolled in Living in the IT Era, organized into eight batches.
The activity featured a combination of orientation, interactive discussion, and actual demonstrations, providing students with practical and relatable learning experiences on recognizing and responding to digital threats.
The initiative forms part of the recently forged partnership between LPC and Scam Ready ASEAN, which seeks to strengthen digital safety and community awareness by equipping participants with practical skills to identify, prevent, and respond to online scams, including emerging threats associated with artificial intelligence.
Through the program, students were encouraged to develop stronger digital confidence, critical thinking, and responsible online behavior, while fostering a culture of collective vigilance against scams and other forms of cyber-enabled deception.
The activity was shared, initiated, and coordinated through the efforts of the Office of Hon. Remigio S. Tayag, Jr., Chair of the Sangguniang Bayan Education Committee, with Ms. Ivy Asuncion providing coordination support.
Beyond the Classroom: Technology for Practical Life
Ms. Baguio has also been extending her expertise to LPC through various ICT-related programs, projects, and training activities benefiting students, employees, and community residents.
Her continuing engagement reflects her advocacy in the field of information technology and her efforts to translate technical knowledge into practical skills that can be applied both in academic and everyday settings.
For LPC, digital literacy extends beyond knowing how to use technology. It also involves understanding its risks, limitations, implications, and responsible applications.
The College recognizes that as technology continues to evolve, including the increasing use of artificial intelligence, students and other stakeholders must likewise, develop the capacity to distinguish legitimate digital opportunities from potential threats.
LPC therefore continues to support relevant technology programs and training initiatives that can equip its faculty, staff, students, and community stakeholders with practical knowledge and informed decision-making skills for safer and more responsible engagement in the digital environment.
Through the actualization of the LPC–Scam Ready ASEAN partnership, the College reinforces its commitment to developing digitally aware, critically thinking, and socially responsible learners who can navigate the opportunities and challenges of the rapidly changing technological landscape. #
