𝗖𝗢𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗘 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | LPC convenes Roving Monitoring Team to strengthen Student Safety and Campus Security

Limay Polytechnic College (LPC) reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a safe, secure, and student-friendly campus as College President Dr. Elmer De Leon convened the Roving Monitoring Team for its regular coordination meeting on August 5 at the President's Office.
The said assembly, one of the three scheduled meetings with the President that day, brought together the Roving Monitoring Team, composed of non-teaching personnel and led by Ms. Belen Marteja, to discuss strategies for enhancing campus safety through continuous roving, monitoring, and inspection throughout the school day.
During the meeting, the team reviewed the common observations, concerns, and incidents recorded during the previous academic year.
Members assessed the effectiveness of the interventions implemented by the College, noting significant improvements in addressing reported issues and maintaining a peaceful campus environment.
With the expected increase in student population this academic year, the team also identified emerging challenges and reaffirmed its readiness to respond promptly to concerns affecting student welfare, campus order, and the smooth conduct of academic operations.
Dr. De Leon expressed his sincere appreciation for the team's dedication and willingness to perform responsibilities beyond their regular duties.
"You are one of the reasons why we have smooth-sailing academic operations each day, and I thank you all for that," the President said, recognizing the team's vital contribution to safeguarding students and ensuring an orderly learning environment.
He emphasized that the Roving Monitoring Team complements the work of academic department heads by helping maintain an environment conducive to learning while academic leaders focus on curriculum implementation, instructional quality, student learning, co-curricular programs, assessment, and the readiness of classrooms, laboratories, and learning resources.
To further improve monitoring efficiency, make it paperless, and ensure the confidentiality of reports, the team was encouraged to utilize the Monitoring App developed by Ms. Cheyser Charrese Gatchula, Head of the Information Technology Education Department. Introduced during the College's Employees' Capacity Building Program, the application enables real-time submission of reports directly to concerned department and unit heads, allowing immediate action and intervention.
The application can be accessed through team members' mobile phones or the iPads that will be provided by the College specifically for monitoring activities, supporting LPC's continuing digital transformation initiatives.
Meanwhile, Ms. Belen Marteja volunteered to prepare the team's roving schedules to ensure continuous and systematic campus monitoring throughout the academic year.
The meeting concluded with the members reaffirming their commitment to prioritizing student safety, security, and well-being, recognizing that a safe campus environment is essential to effective teaching, learning, and student success.
The initiative reflects Limay Polytechnic College's continuing commitment to Pathway 1: Good Governance, Dynamic Digitalization, and Quality Assurance, where proactive safety measures, collaborative governance, and technology-enabled monitoring work together to promote a secure, responsive, and learner-centered educational environment. This is also anchored on Pathway 4 (Student Success, Empowerment and Support Services) underscoring security services.
In addition, Dr. De Leon set a prior discussion with Mr. Robert Abella, designated building administration officer, who reported on his regular building inspection, especially electric wiring, plug and outlet conditions to ensure safety against fire incidents.
Another separate meetings will be conducted with the Security Team for the report and updates on their round-the-clock security roving and inspection to ensure safety and protection of people and property inside the campus, and the Institutional Risk Management Team for everyone's readiness and resilience in case of occurrence of risks and disasters. #
