𝗖𝗢𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗘 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | LPC sets Coordination Meeting with LGU Stakeholders; Municipal Mayor and SB Education Committee affirm Support for Institutional Development

Limay Polytechnic College (LPC) convened a coordination meeting with key stakeholders of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Limay to present the College’s current institutional status, emerging priorities, and strategic directions, while identifying areas requiring strengthened support and convergence, held at the Municipal Conference Hall, Sept. 22.

The meeting was initiated by the Sangguniang Bayan Education Committee, chaired by Hon. Remigio S. Tayag, Jr., with the approval of Hon. Mayor Richie Jason David and the support of concerned municipal departments and offices.

Hon. Coun. Tayag presided over the meeting, which brought together heads and representatives of various municipal offices and department heads and unit heads of LPC for an integrated discussion on the College’s institutional development.

Presenting LPC’s Status and Future Directions

LPC College President Dr. Elmer De Leon presented the College’s current institutional status, significant developments, and future directions. He likewise discussed the institutional context established under CHED Memorandum Order No. 18, s. 2022, as well as relevant observations and feedback arising from the recent CHED Regional Office III Onsite Monitoring and Validation Visit.

Dr. De Leon laid down the College’s key issues and concerns, including areas requiring immediate attention, intervention, and improvement to sustain institutional operations and advance LPC’s strategic directions. He also mentioned the fast growing population of incoming students, making LPC as a school of choice against available space. This also included developments in the new campus building and necessary infrasfructure innovations in the old (current) campus.

The presentation provided an opportunity to reflect on the College’s institutional journey and learn from the experiences and lessons of its history as LPC continues to evolve in response to changing academic, regulatory, operational, and community requirements.

Strengthening LGU–LPC Convergence

The coordination meeting was attended by key LGU stakeholders, including representatives and heads from the Budget, Treasury, Accounting, Procurement, Human Resource Management, Engineering, Municipal Planning and Development, and Mayor’s Offices.

Representing LPC were Members of the Academic Council, such as the director of the Office of Academic Affairs and Teacher Education, Business and Accountancy, Information Technology Education, Research, Innovation and Extension, QUALITI, and Media Communication and Public Information Office.

The convergence provided a venue for the College and its local government stakeholders to jointly examine institutional developments, operational requirements, regulatory concerns, and areas where stronger coordination and support may be necessary.

The Mayor and the Sangguniang Bayan Education Committee affirmed their support for LPC’s institutional direction and development, reinforcing the importance of sustained LGU–LPC collaboration in advancing the College’s mandate as the local higher education institution serving the community and besting in quality operation, academic excellence, research and extension, quality assurance and internationalization engagements.

Beyond reporting institutional accomplishments, the meeting emphasized the importance of open dialog, shared accountability, and coordinated planning. It enabled stakeholders to appreciate both the progress achieved by LPC and the challenges that must be addressed to sustain its momentum.

For LPC, the engagement represents a continuing effort to bring institutional stakeholders together—not only to celebrate developments, but also to confront concerns, identify priorities, mobilize appropriate support, and collectively shape the College’s next directions.

Through strengthened LGU–LPC convergence, the College continues to pursue responsive governance, strategic institutional development, quality improvement, and sustainable growth, guided by its mandate and its commitment to delivering meaningful outcomes for students, the community, and its stakeholders. #
