𝗖𝗢𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗘 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | LPC Holds Environmental Awareness Summit, SDG Activities

Limay Polytechnic College (LPC) conducted an environmental awareness event on Monday, participated in by National Service Training Program (NSTP) students through the program “Hiyas Likasan: International Environment Care Summit.” The event also featured a memorandum of agreement (MOA) signing, a recycled products exhibit, and an SDG Quiz Bee, held at the Limay Sports Complex, May 25.

The event aimed to promote environmental awareness, sustainability, and responsible waste management among students while strengthening partnerships for environmental advocacy.

A memorandum of agreement was signed between LPC and the Young Bataeños for Environmental Advocacy Network (Young BEAN), reinforcing the institution’s commitment to environmental education and sustainable practices.

The summit featured discussions on proper waste management and environmental responsibility led by representatives from the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) of Limay.

Students were informed about the sources and types of solid waste in Limay, waste collection data, and the effects of improper waste disposal on communities and the environment.

In support of environmental sustainability, students also showcased recycled products through “Hiyas Resiklo: Exhibit of Recycled Products,” highlighting creativity and resourcefulness in reusing materials.

The event concluded with an SDG Quiz Bee, where student representatives from different courses and sections participated in a competition that tested their knowledge of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while exhibit booths were simultaneously evaluated.

LPC officials and organizers commended the students’ participation and emphasized the institution’s continuing efforts to foster environmental awareness and responsible citizenship among LPCians. #
