Limay Polytechnic College (LPC) officially strengthened its commitment to quality teacher education by formalizing a partnership with Bataan Garden of Wisdom School (BGWS), paving the way for internship placements, employment opportunities, and enhanced experiential learning for future Early Childhood Education students.
BGWS, located in Orion, Bataan, is a learning institution that caters to toddlers, nursery, kindergarten, and children with special needs through various programs, including Special Needs Education, Kiddie Camp, Kiddie Camp with Intervention, Kiddie Barn, and Life Class.
Accredited by the Department of Education and as a progressive school, BGWS which used to be Playhouse continues to implement a Reggio Emilia-inspired approach to early childhood education.
During LPC's official visit on July 02, College President Dr. Elmer De Leon, together with Ms. April Cruz, Head of the Department of Teacher Education; Ms. Jana Marie Mangune, Coordinator of the BEEd and proposed BECED programs; and Mr. Mark Anthony Banda, Quality Assurance Officer, met with Ms. Lorelie Dela Soledad, Principal of BGWS, to formalize the partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
Under the agreement, BGWS will serve as the official laboratory school for LPC's proposed Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECED) program.
The partnership will provide students with meaningful opportunities for classroom observation, immersion, and internship, allowing them to experience authentic teaching environments and apply educational theories and child-centered learning approaches in actual practice.
The collaboration also opens employment pathways for LPC graduates. Ms. Dela Soledad shared that several alumni of the College are already part of the BGWS teaching workforce and have demonstrated competence and dedication in their respective roles.
Recognizing Ms. Dela Soledad's expertise in early childhood education and school leadership, Dr. De Leon also invited her to serve as a resource faculty member once the BECED program is officially offered by the College.
She expressed her support for the initiative and her willingness to contribute to the preparation of future early childhood educators. This would definitely add up to the BECED coordinator who has background i managing an early childhood program being a principal that affirms LPC's confidence in offering said program.
As part of the visit, the LPC delegation toured the school's facilities and observed its innovative learning environments and child-centered instructional practices.
Discussions likewise covered the implementation of the partnership, internship arrangements, foundational child studies, and other collaborative activities that will enrich the College's teacher education programs.
The partnership marks another significant milestone in LPC's preparations for the offering of the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECED) program.
By collaborating with a reputable child education institution, the College continues to strengthen its teacher education curriculum and provide future educators with quality, practice-based learning experiences.
Through this partnership, Limay Polytechnic College and the Bataan Garden of Wisdom School reaffirm their commitment to producing highly competent, compassionate, and globally competitive educators equipped to nurture the holistic development of young learners and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of early childhood education in the country imbued with international standards to become competitive in the world. #
