After a week of campaigns, miting de avance, and the electronic voting process, Limay Polytechnic College (LPC) on Friday successfully proclaimed the new officers of the Supreme Student Council (SSC), the highest governing student body of the institution for Academic Year 2026–2027, July 31.
BSEd English student and former SSC Vice President Lance David L. Borjal was proclaimed as the new SSC president.
Joining Borjal were the other newly elected officers: Alexander L. Bazer as vice president, Valerie Jade Angeles as secretary, Princess Ann L. Rondina as treasurer, Pinky Tolentino as auditor, Chenxy Obejas as business manager, Carl Vincent Berino as public information officer, and Christian J. David as peace officer.
Francisco T. Ubag, Kim Cardenas, Prince Harold S. Maestro, and Jonalyn S. Field were elected as fourth-year, third-year, second-year, and first-year representatives, respectively.
Moreover, the additional positions of assistant secretary and media officer, introduced in this year's election, were secured by Kim Nicole De Jesus and Jessiel Castigador.
The fourth Pasa-masid (Pass and View) was held immediately after the casting of the last vote and the proclamation of the elected officers.
Incumbent and outgoing SSC President Marck Jay Mendoza turned over the LPC emblem to Borjal, symbolizing the transfer of responsibility that he will carry throughout his term.
MIS Officer Jester Guillermo, Office of Student Affairs and Discipline Services (OSADS) Director Jesica Marata, LPC President Dr. Elmer De Leon, and other school officials led the proclamation, which was witnessed by the entire LPC community.
Ms. Marata delivered her congratulatory message to the newly elected officials.
A total of 1,576 out of 1,978 students participated in this year's SSC election, resulting in a 79.68% voter turnout, a 2.72-percentage-point increase from last year's 76.96% turnout.
Meanwhile, according to the data, the remaining 402 students, or 20.32%, were unable to cast their votes, most of whom were fourth-year students who no longer had classes at LPC and were only waiting for deployment to their internship program.
Moreover, the newly elected officials are expected to begin their term of service after officially taking their oath during Pagtatalaga 2026, scheduled on Aug. 20.
The Pasa-masid (Pass and View), which began in 2023, is a traditional legacy turnover ceremony at LPC held after the newly elected SSC officers are officially proclaimed. During the ceremony, the incumbent SSC president turns over the leadership legacy to the newly elected president, who then climbs the stairs to the veranda to raise the LPC flag while the school hymn is played, signaling the beginning of the new administration's term. #
