Date Posted: Sep. 15, 2026
The Management Committee (ManCom) of Limay Polytechnic College (LPC) convened on September 11 at the College Library to review and assess the official feedback, observations, and recommendations arising from the recent onsite validation and monitoring conducted by the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office III (CHEDRO III), Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT), and UniFAST representatives.
Convened by College President Dr. Elmer B. De Leon, the meeting focused on translating the external assessment results into concrete institutional actions and solutions in line with LPC's commitment to continuous quality improvement (CQI).
Based on the official transmittal issued by CHED, Dr. De Leon first highlighted the strengths and positive observations noted by the assessment team, particularly in the areas of documentation, organizational systems, operational processes, institutional branding, technology integration, curriculum, and student participation and development.
These affirmations were recognized as indicators of the College's continuing efforts to establish systematic and quality-oriented institutional operations.
At the same time, Dr. De Leon identified areas requiring further reflection and immediate action, particularly those concerning facilities and plantilla positions needed to strengthen manpower resources. He directed the concerned offices and units to begin working on the identified requirements and corresponding compliance measures.
The official CHED transmittal indicated that the College's submission of compliance must be completed on or before October 8, providing the institution with nearly a month to address the recommendations and submit the necessary supporting evidence.
Dr. De Leon challenged the Management Committee and the entire institutional workforce to become increasingly familiar and adept with the demands of external quality assurance, emphasizing that CHED, RQAT, UniFAST, PRC, accrediting agencies, government regulatory bodies, and professional organizations form part of the quality assurance environment within which a higher education institution operates.
βThis is now the life that we have to become accustomed with as we sustain quality standards in seriously operating a higher education institution, along with the needed compliances. This is also a preparation for accreditation, which requires a triple intensity of the process,β Dr. De Leon emphasized.
The CHED feedback and corresponding institutional action points will likewise be presented to the Municipality of Limay and its Committee on Education, with the participation of Hon. Mayor Richie Jason David, Hon. Vice Mayor Mary Grace David, and Hon. Remigio S. Tayag, Jr., Chairperson of the Sangguniang Bayan Committee on Education, together with concerned municipal departments and offices.
The initiative aims to facilitate municipal-level review, reflection, resource consideration, needed legislation, legal and immediate action on matters requiring local government support.
The ManCom review underscores LPC's institutional approach of treating external assessments not merely as regulatory requirements but as opportunities for organizational learning, systems strengthening, innovation, and continuous quality improvement.
As the College advances its compliance with CHED recommendations, LPC continues to strengthen its systems and institutional capacity toward sustainable standards-based operations, regulatory compliance, and future accreditation readiness. #
