LIMAY, Bataan. Limay Polytechnic College (LPC) continues to strengthen its technical-vocational and lifelong learning programs as part of its commitment to expanding employment opportunities and empowering the people of Limay.
Among its flagship initiatives is the Instrumentation and Control Servicing NC II, a TESDA-accredited microcredential program that provides an upskilling and career pathway leading to the Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology.
The program offers learners opportunities for skills development, employment, career advancement, and further professional growth both locally and abroad.
The program is a collaborative undertaking of the Municipality of Limay through Limay Polytechnic College, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and supporting private industries in Limay.
Through this partnership, LPC has been able to provide successive batches of learners with industry-relevant competencies and technical skills.
Several program completers have already translated their training into employment opportunities. Some have secured jobs, others have been promoted or advanced in their careers, while others have pursued employment opportunities abroad after successfully completing the required assessment and certification processes.
For the continuing training cycle, the Office of Congressman Albert Garcia has allocated 75 scholarship slots under the TESDA Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP). The scholarship package includes training support, stipend allowance, and other allowable expenses.
The allocation was coordinated through Ms. Nikki Singh Shah in consultation with the LPC College President.
The scholarship initiative aims to:
1. develop a pool of qualified, competent, and job-ready workers;
provide unemployed and underemployed individuals with opportunities for pre-employment training, skills upgrading, and productivity enhancement;
2. strengthen technical competencies responsive to current and emerging industry requirements;
expand opportunities for employment and career advancement; and
3. strengthen the capacity of public and private Technical-Vocational Institutions/Training Providers to offer qualifications aligned with available employment opportunities and higher levels of technology.
The Office of Technical-Vocational, Lifelong Learning and Microcredentials Education (TVLLME) is currently arranging the training schedules, while the Offices of Admissions and Registrar are preparing the community information campaign, orientation, and registration processes.
To promote equitable access, the 75 scholarship slots will be distributed among the different barangays of Limay, in coordination with the respective Barangay Chairpersons.
Training will be conducted by batch, with admission following a first-come, first-served arrangement, subject to the program's eligibility and documentary requirements.
Through this initiative, LPC, TESDA, the Office of Congressman Albert Garcia, the Municipality of Limay, and its industry partners reaffirm their shared commitment to skills development, employment generation, community empowerment, and lifelong learning.
The program is not merely a training opportunity - it is a pathway toward competence, employment, career mobility, and a more empowered community. #
