Not all success stories begin with medals, honors, or Latin distinctions. Some begin with quiet prayers, small consistent efforts, and a dream.
For Jomar Aculan Ocier, a graduate of Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English (2013), the journey was never about being the smartest in class. It was about perseverance. It was about showing up. And it was about taking one step at a time.

Today, he serves as an English Teacher at Roong Aroon International School, carrying with him the lessons and values he learned from Limay Polytechnic College.

Jomar openly shares that he was not a Deanโ€™s Lister. He was not a top-performing student. He describes himself as just an ordinary student. Sometimes wandering, sometimes unsure, and still trying to find his way.

There were moments he felt like he was no one. But he had one thing that mattered most: ๐—ฎ ๐—ฑ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—บ.

Like many students, he simply wanted a better life for himself and for the people he loved. So he began with small steps. One prayer at a time, one attempt at a time, one opportunity at a time.

Nothing grand. Nothing instant.
Just small, consistent efforts every single day.

He remained open to learning, embracing new experiences and exploring different opportunities that slowly revealed his strengths and potential.

During his college years at Limay Polytechnic College, Jomar was entrusted with responsibilities that shaped his character beyond academics.

As a member of the LPC Cultural Society, he represented the institution in various performances. Experiences that nurtured his confidence, creativity, and stage presence.

In 2011, he was honored to serve as Vice President of the Supreme Student Council, a role that strengthened his leadership skills and deepened his sense of responsibility and service to the student body.

Through these opportunities, LPC helped him discover that growth does not only happen inside the classroom. It happens when one chooses to lead, serve, and step forward despite doubts.

More than academic knowledge, LPC taught Jomar discipline and perseverance. Guided by dedicated mentors and shaped by the institutionโ€™s commitment to quality education, he developed the confidence and mindset needed to face real-world challenges.

After graduating in 2013, he began his professional journey at Mariveles National High School Batangas 2 in 2015โ€”taking the first concrete steps toward his dream.

With courage and faith, he stepped beyond his comfort zone and eventually built a career internationally as an educator. His journey stands as proof that LPC graduates are equipped not only to survive, but to compete and succeed on the global stage.

Everything Jomar does today as a teacher is rooted in the values instilled in him by LPC. The discipline he practices, the perseverance he embodies, and the heart with which he teaches all trace back to his foundation.

He proudly shares that LPC has been an avenue for changing lives and he considers himself one of those lives transformed.

No matter where life takes him, he will always look back to Limay Polytechnic College as home. His foundation, his training ground, and one of the greatest influences behind who he is today. From feeling like an ordinary student to becoming an international educator, Jomar Aculan Ocierโ€™s story reminds us all:

โ€œGreatness does not always begin with being the best.
Sometimes, it simply begins with refusing to stop.โ€ #
