ViewSonic, a global provider of visual and digital solutions, presented its digital interactive learning technology to Limay Polytechnic College (LPC) on September 17, advancing the College's continuing efforts toward dynamic, flexible, and inclusive teaching and learning.
The presentation was facilitated by Ms. Lauren Apple Samala, Senior Sales Manager and Education Trainer of ViewSonic, together with Mr. Tommy Hernandez of Machine and Computer World, Inc.
The engagement was endorsed by Hon. Mayor Richie Jason David, who supports the adoption of innovative learning technologies responsive to the evolving educational needs of LPCians as being pushed and advocated by the College President Dr. Elmer de Leon.
The digital orientation was attended by College President Dr. De Leon; Ms. Geyser Charrese Gatchula, Head of Information Technology Education; Ms. April Cruz, Director of Academic Affairs; Mr. Dominic Primero, Director of Guidance, Testing and Human Formation Services; and Mr. Mark Anthony Banda, representing Quality Assurance, Linkages, Internationalization, and Training for Institutional Quality.
The featured digital interactive board and integrated platform aligns with LPC's digitalization initiatives in teaching and learning and its continuing development of a HyFlex (hybrid-flexible) learning system.
More so, the technology is being considered as a support mechanism for the College's Learning for Special Population Program, which seeks to provide flexible learning opportunities for students whose circumstances may affect their regular participation in face-to-face classes.
The proposed technology may particularly support learners who experience challenges related to health conditions, employment responsibilities, family circumstances, mobility, or other legitimate barriers to regular classroom attendance. It is likewise envisioned to strengthen learning inclusivity and equity by providing alternative ways for students to participate in instruction while maintaining meaningful engagement with their teachers and classmates.
The initiative is consistent with LPC's efforts to develop responsive learning systems that can accommodate diverse learner contexts and provide continuity of instruction during situations that may disrupt conventional classroom delivery.
Should the proposed system be approved and endorsed by the College President for institutional adoption, capacity-building sessions will be conducted for faculty members to familiarize them with the operation and pedagogical applications of the digital interactive platform.
βThe new learning system plays a crucial role in addressing present-day demands in teaching and learning and the needs of diverse learners, which LPC continues to advocate,β expressed Dr. De Leon.
The College President further emphasized the importance of exploring technologies that can complement but not replace the essential role of teachers while expanding opportunities for students to access quality instruction through flexible and technology-enabled learning environments.
The LPC community likewise expressed its appreciation to Hon. Mayor Richie Jason David for his support and responsiveness to the evolving needs of LPC learners and for recognizing the value of innovative digital tools in advancing the College's teaching and learning agenda.
The ViewSonic engagement marks another step in LPC's continuing digital transformation toward a more accessible, flexible, inclusive, and future-ready learning environment for every LPCian. #
