Limay Polytechnic College (LPC) participated in the Zonal Public Orientation on CHED Memorandum Order (CMO) No. 18, s. 2026, entitled "Comprehensive Policies and Guidelines on Student Affairs and Services (SAS)," held at Hotel Seoul, Clark, Pampanga, on July 30, 2026.
Representing LPC President Dr. Elmer B. De Leon, Ms. Jesica Marata, Officer of the Office of Student Affairs, Discipline and Services (OSADS), attended the orientation together with school presidents and student affairs practitioners from higher education institutions across Luzon.
The activity highlighted the newly issued CMO No. 18, s. 2026, which establishes updated minimum standards and quality assurance frameworks for Student Affairs and Services in all higher education institutions in the country.
It also served as a collaborative venue for participants to strengthen institutional alignment in promoting holistic student development, safety, welfare, and well-being.
Among the key provisions discussed were the mandatory Student Affairs and Services components, including guidance and counseling staffing ratios, campus health and food safety standards, disaster risk reduction and management, student discipline anchored on restorative practices, and dedicated support services for Students with Disabilities (SWD) and Students with Specific Needs (SSN).
Following the orientation, Ms. Marata reported that higher education institutions will be required to subject their Student Affairs and Services programs to accreditation and regular monitoring. Currently, CHEDRO3 is inspecting and monitoring HEIs in their SAS implementation and compliances of standards.
Likewise, documentary compliance, institutional data gathering, and survey-based assessments will be strengthened to ensure adherence to CHED standards and continuous quality improvement.
Believing that student development complements academic excellence, Limay Polytechnic College continues to strengthen its Student Affairs and Services by addressing students' needs and concerns while providing programs that empower them according to their interests, abilities, and full potential.
The College likewise remains committed to maintaining timely, complete, and quality compliance with CHED requirements, reflecting its continuing pursuit of excellence in governance, student welfare, and institutional quality. #
