In its continuing effort to promote a safer and more prepared academic community, Limay Polytechnic College 9LPC) on Friday conducted a Basic Life Support and First Aid Training for first-year students in collaboration with the Limay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Unit, held at the collegeβs Audio-Visual Room, February 6.
LPC President Dr. Elmer B. De Leon and RDE Director Joemark Ablian led the program, delivering their respective welcome messages and opening remarks.
βBilang isang mamamayan, mayroon tayong pananagutan hindi lamang sa ating mga sarili, kundi pati sa ating mga kababayan upang masigurado ang ligtas na pamayanan. Sa pamamagitan ng ganitong mga training-seminar na may kinalaman sa pagliligtas ng buhay, magiging kapaki-pakinabang tayo hindi lang sa ating mga sariliβt pamilya, kundi sa ating mga kamag-aral at buong komunidad,β Ablian said.
Following the opening program, the hands-on training immediately began with LDRRM Assistant Maricar Reyes facilitated the Basic First Aid session, where participants were taught proper first aid procedures through detailed discussions and demonstrations.
The lecture series continued with Municipal DRRMO Head Jaime G. Dolarte, who emphasized the importance of Basic Life Support.
He discussed life-saving procedures, including the correct use of emergency and rescue equipment.
Participants, including LPC students and faculty members, were trained on various first aid techniques, reinforced through practical demonstrations to ensure better understanding and application.
After the seminar-training, an assessment and reflection activity was conducted, allowing selected students to share insights and lessons learned from the session.
The activity concluded with a closing message from Ariel T. Vibar, head of the Finance and Security Department. #
