Pre-service teachers from Limay Polytechnic College ((LPC), accompanied by Ms. April Cruz, head of Department of Teacher Education and Ms. Jana Marie Mangune, adviser participated in the Philippine Association for Teachers and Educators, (PAFTE) Region III Teacher Education Congress on March 6, 2026, held at La Consolacion University Philippines in Malolos City, Bulacan, together with education students from various colleges and universities across the region.
With the theme, βThe AI-Augmented Educator: Bridging Innovation and Integrity in the Philippine Classroom,β said seminar featured two sessions.
Dr. Marlon Tayag discussed how effective prompts enhance the use of generative AI in instructional design, emphasizing that AI supports but does not replace teachers.
Dr. Felina Espique from Saint Louis University highlighted the importance of ethical AI use through clear and contextualized guidelines in schools.
Dr. Elmer De Leon, vice president for Luzon delivered his keynote message that focused on balancing the AI to assist in the delivery of instruction and emphasize empowered human capital toward educational integrity, success and excellence.
He also commended PAFTER3 for coming up with such programs noteworthy of bringing impacts among HEIs and likewise, he acknowledged the institutions' support to PAFTE.
The seminar concluded with a reflection on the growing role of AI in education while reaffirming that teachers remain essential in shaping learnersβ minds, values, and future. #
