Pres. Dr. Elmer B. De Leon was invited as keynote speaker during the Pinning and Send-off Ceremonies at Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation (VMUF), San Carlos City, Pangasinan themed: Trailblazers of excellence: Embracing inclusive education and lifelong learning on September 14, 2024 at the CPG Hall, VMUF. Dr. De Leon inspired the candidates for pinning and send-off program with his words of encouragement, while reitering the essence of the occasion. He also shared 5 Pins to them in his talk: Pin-ag-ugatan (roots and beginnings); Pin-atutungkulan (significance): Pin-apangarap (aspirations); Pin-agdadaanan (challenges and struggles); and Pin-atutunguhan (future directions). The said occasion was even made more significant and exciting in time of the pinning ceremony with their parents, candle lighting and dedication song to their parents. "Nawa'y magsilbing gabay ang liwanag na iyan sa landas na inyong tatahakin patungo sa katagumpayan para sa inyong mga sarili, mga magulang at mahal sa buhay, sa pamayanan at sa bayang minamahal. Kaya't patuloy ninyo itong pagningasin upang mag-alab nang lubusan sa inyong puso at sa inyong tuturuan," inspired Dr. De Leon who left significant impact not only to the preservice teachers, but also to their parents and the institution. To note, VMUF is LPC's partner in teacher education development, faculty and student training and extension for almost three years now.
