INSTITUTIONAL PROSPECTS

LPC HISTORY

Limay Polytechnic College traces its humble beginnings in the establishment of a Pamantasan ng Bayan in the municipality, an outreach program of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines - Mariveles Campus. The Municipality Government of Limay provided a venue for the program which helped indigent students from the town realize their goals of obtaining baccalaureate and technical education. The program started at Limay Elementary School with Mrs. Elvira Torres who manned its incipient operation, until a steadily increasing student population necessitated its transfer to the second floor of the Limay Health Center.

From its initial offering of a Secretarial course, the college has expanded its course offerings to degree courses.

From there, Limay Polytechnic College was born by virtue of Municipal Ordinance No. 116, which was passed by the Sangguniang Bayan of Limay on June 1997.

With the ever-increasing student population, the need to offer additional courses became imperative. This moved the municipal government to seek the assistance of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

Today, it continues its pursuit of providing quality and relevant education for the youth in this arising first-class municipality.

Despite its limitations in major areas of concerns, the profile of graduates manifests a number of those who passed the licensure examinations for teachers and certified public accountants. It only attests that the college continuously emblazons on its vision for the youth, who can become the municipality and the nation’s partners for progress, innovations and development.

Hail to Limay Polytechnic College embossed with its goals of Love for learning; Passion for work; and Commitment in service as a true covenant of its mantra “Dangal LPCian: Sandigan ng Mamamayan”.
