The Research, Development and Extension of Limay Polytechnic College serves as repository of explorations, discoveries, developments, creative works, plans, designs and innovation platforms, not only of the institution but of the Community of Limay, as a whole.
As a complementary arm of academic operation of the institution, the RDE reserves its pursuit to further development with its effort and initiative of inquiry and explorations through its programs, projects and activities that would ensure stronger and dynamic research capability, enhanced productivity, broader dissemination and pragmatic utilization of research outputs. Thus, it encompasses the realization of making LPC a citadel of research groundworks and quality education with strong research infrastructure.
Incessantly, the RDE, as a paragon of knowledge exploration and spring well of interventions and innovations, endeavors to supervise, regulate, monitor, control, assist and evaluate institutional researches and recommends them for dissemination and application anchored on the institutional vision-mission pursuant to the mandate of the Commission on Higher Education.
Limay Polytechnic College strives to sustain research studies and creative works perspired by stakeholders that can significantly contribute to the advancement of knowledge and understanding and to the national goals of quality and excellence in education, accessibility and equity in education, national relevance and responsiveness, efficiency and effectiveness, innovation, economic and social development, environmental sustainability and the attainment of Dangal LPCian at its highest place.
The Center for Research, Development and Extension, an adjunct unit of the Office of the President, is responsible for the realization of the research thrust and pursuance of academic development. Cognizant to its commitment to provide an excellent and relevant higher education through academic instruction, research and extension, the RDE serves as threshold for research processes that entail broad knowledge of diverse disciplines, in-depth understanding of the institutional context and above all, commitment to its significant values and its purpose to the society. The RDE adheres to the philosophy and core values of LPCian education which fosters academic excellence through creative works, discovery and development of new knowledge, enhancement of the existing body of learning process and advancement in diverse fields toward reaching greater heights.
The National Higher Education Research Agenda (NHERA) integrates the concerns of higher education sector with the overall development goals and objectives of the country, the National Innovation System and the higher education international community.
Guided by the above principles, there are several categories of research undertakings that require and shall be given consideration.
1. Basic research to generate new knowledge and advance frontiers in various disciplines.
2. Research in aid of policy/plan formulation and implementation, particularly in education.
3. Research aimed at producing/adapting education technologies and developing education programs in cutting edge fields, such as nanotechnology, biotechnology, ICT, materials science, etc.
4. Research and development in aid of national and regional development.
