Posted Sep-12-2024

Ms. Jesica Marata, OSADS and Ms. Evangeline Baldevieso, adviser of Integrated Philippine Anti-Illegal Drugs Strategies (iPADS) Jr. League joined the PADS Orientation conducted by the CHEDRO3 to select higher education institutions in the region, dubbed as "MASID: Mapping Awareness and Strategies against Illegal Drugs" on September 12-13, 2024 at the Aurora Subic Hotel, Subic, Zambales. PADS serves as part of the Commission on Higher Education's commitment to the anti-illegal drugs education campaign. This aligns with Presidential Executive Order No. 66 in 2018. As such, the said two-day training aimed to provide school personnel with the necessary knowledge and expertise to effectively handle drug abuse prevention, treatment, rehabilitation and support services. To note, LPC has activated PADS, in coordination with the multi-sectoral agencies, namely: the Philippine National Police, Rural Health Unit and Municipal Social Welfare and Development, respectively. The said drug education program is framed in five folds reflecting cultural symbol (Lima 'ay), such as (1) Information and communication; (2) Curriculum integration; (3) Anti-illegal drug-focused student organization; (4) Policy formulation and imposition; and (5)Advocacy promotion. Strategies are clearly stated in the framework, while various programs and activities are set for this purpose. #sdg16peacejusticeandstronginstitutions
