Geraldine Dela Cruz (BSE-English) and John Rudolph Barbin (BEED) received highest distinctions in academic and co-curricular stints. To wit: De Guzman bested in her academics being the batch lone cum laude, while Barbin was cited 13 press awards in various journalism engagements, inter-university competitions and was consistently awarded as Outstanding Journalist in the Region for three consecutive years in a row. As such, the former also received the Dangal ng Bayan, PAFTE medallion of academic excellence, CHED-Unifast academic excellence and the Outstanding Student-Teacher of the Year while holding the Civil Service eligibility exam exemption; while the latter was accorded the Journalism Achievement Award, Outstanding Journalist of the Year, Artist of the Year (Visual and Digital Multimedia) and the first to receive the Hall of Fame in Student Journalism Plaque for giving pride and honor to the institution. In context, both awardees have their special testimonies of life struggles, family stories and significant experiences in battling with their life journeys. During the commencement program, De Guzman emotionally delivered her valedictory address, while Barbin had the privilege to hoist and wave the LPC flag with pride and dignity in sync with the solemn singing of Dangal ng Bayan Hymn as a cultural tradition in the institution. To note, LPC emphasizes and recognizes balanced development among students, both in academics and beyond with their potentials toward holistic growth and lifelong learning.
