LPC invited to UIGWURN workshop for Internationalization

Posted Aug-27-2024

Being concerned with climate action (Sdg 13) through environmental sustainability, the 2nd National Workshop on UI GreenMetric World University Rankings for universities in the Philippines 2024 was conducted on August 27, 2024 via zoom hosted by Batangas State University. Indicated in the invitation from BatSU Pres. Tirso Ronquillo to Pres. Dr. Elmer De Leon, the event aimed to bring together member universities for an interactive and informative session; update invitees on UIGWURN; share best practices from different Philippine universities, panel discussion from government and industry partners showcasing sustainability initiatives, assist in completing UIGreenMetric questionnaires and foster cooperation in sustainability areas. To note, UIGWURN is a global network of universities focused on sustainability. Mr. Mark Anthony B. Banda, admin officer for QUALITI, together with the Management Team, joined the said workshop. As such, this is another challenge and milestone that LPC takes into consideration, while working on becoming a sustainable institution based on SDG-based reforms. This also aligns with the LPC's Pamahayanan 2.0 Program as a contingent in this platform. Thus, it is aspired and desired to have LPC to attest its practices and experiences for adaptation to the rest HEIs in the country through UIGWUR soon. Meanwhile, LPC acknowledges BatSU for including and considering LPC in this convergence despite not a university yet. Hence, a collaboration and partnership opportunity is being set with the said university upon benchmarking to seek assistance for this purpose. #Sdg13: Climate Action
