LPC responds to CHED's call for assembly of TEIs. Ms. April R. Cruz, head of Teacher Education joined the orientation and workshop session called for by the Commission on Higher Education Region 3 at CHEDRO3 Building, San Fernando, Pampanga on July 12, 2024. This was in response to the findings of EDCOM 2 that recommends an extensive data collection and monitoring of TEIs in the country. In capsule, Dr. Efren Abulencia, Education Supervisor II, facilitated the said intensive validation process on rigorous assessment of qualifications of deans and program heads of the institutions, faculty qualifications, CHED-noted curricula, facilities, laboratory school partnership for internship and immersion, library management and resources, licensure examination performance and enrollment and graduate data for the past 3 years. This is also in consonance with the Amendment to Sec. 25 of CMO 74-80 and 82 or the quality assurance and standardization of teacher education and thereby, the pruning of non-performing and non-compliant TEIs in the country which is accounted to be a factor in low performance of learners in basic education that reflects in PISA and other international assessment results.
