Dr. Elmer B. de Leon, president was chosen and awarded the 2023 PNU Gawad Sulo for Eminent Alumni in the field of educational leadership by the Philippine Normal University, Manila. Accordingly, the Selection Committee carefully assessed all nominees based on their remarkable achievements and steadfast dedication in their respective fields in support of education and teacher education.
As such, Dr. De Leon qualified for the said prestigious and reputable award with his outstanding qualities in Educational Leadership as the embodiment of the PNU Core Values of Truth, Excellence, and Service—a true exemplar of the ideals of Inang Pamantasan. The awarding ceremony was scheduled on May 3, 2023 at the Senator Geronima T. Pecson Auditorium, Philippine Normal University, Taft Ave., Manila. Dr. Bert Tuga, PNU president commended Dr. De Leon’s accomplishments in the field of education and academe as he expressed in his congratulatory letter to the latter which was incessantly affirmed by the Board of Regents during the awarding rites.
