Dr. Elmer B. de Leon, LPC president and vice president of the Philippine Association for Teachers and Educators (PAFTE) a frontline teacher education organization in the country, served as the resource speaker in the General Assembly of the Council of Deans of Teacher Education Region 5 (CODTE 5) on March 24, 2023 at the Ysabelle's Function Hall, Legazpi City, themed " Teaching Profession: Rebranding for Change and Relevance; Delving on Research for Capacity Building", which was participated in by deans and faculty members of different teacher education institutions (TEIs) in the Bicol region. Dr. De Leon stressed on the significance of empowering heads and teachers on effective teaching profession and research toward productive operation of teacher education in the country. He also expressed his heartfelt desire to assist and help the region in realizing their goals of uplifting the quality of teacher education in their region through impact-based instruction, research, board examination and quality assurance mechanisms in place. Hence, the Committee shared the impressive results of the said seminar evaluation as they accounted most significantly to the resource speaker as they appealed for continuation of the said segment to set the full competencies that they need. As such, Dr. De Leon may come back to respond to the request by then, for the in-service and preservice teachers.
