Dr. Elmer B. de Leon, vice president for Luzon of the Philippine Association for Teachers and Educators (PAFTE) delivered an inspirational message during the PAFTE-Region 3 Student Congress, held on February 18, 2023, 8:00-12:00 themed: “Keep the Passion Alive”, which was attended in by more than a thousand participants both via zoom and fb live from different teacher education institutions (TEIs) in Central Luzon and other parts of the country. Dr. De Leon reiterated the significant role of education and the educators in reforming and transforming the society by reshaping the youth of today for a brighter tomorrow. Indeed, “….teachers are the hope of the new generation, on their shoulders rests the challenge of reshaping the youth of today for a brand new hope of tomorrow”. He also cited his humble beginnings, current developments and future directions in this profession that he called his passion and vocation. “Let us keep the fire burning and make the ember into flickering lights with our passion to uphold the future”, he ended.
