Limay Polytechnic College (LPC) secures its place among 2,016 universities worldwide, ranking 129th in the Philippines and 13th in Central Luzon in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2026.

After its initial attempt to navigate the demanding requirements of the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, including extensive portal preparation, documentation, data consolidation, and validation, Limay Polytechnic College has finally earned its place in the prestigious global sustainability ranking.

For its first-ever participation, LPC was ranked among 2,016 universities from 110 countries worldwide, placing 129th among participating Philippine institutions and 7th in Central Luzon.

The 2026 results were formally released on September 24, 2026, during the University Ranking Results and Awarding Ceremony held at the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University in Baku, Azerbaijan, the host institution for this year's UI GreenMetric Sustainable University Rankings and Awarding Ceremony, themed “Advancing Sustainability for Earth.”

Although LPC was unable to send a representative to the invitational onsite awarding ceremony, the institution was able to follow the program through the personally sent official YouTube Live streaming link. Results are posted in the UIGreenMetric Website Portal.

𝘼 𝙈𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙇𝙋𝘾'𝙨 𝙂𝙡𝙤𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙯𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙅𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙮

The achievement marks another significant milestone in LPC's continuing journey toward its vision of becoming an internationally recognized local college through global engagement, world ranking, international benchmarking, sustainability initiatives, and meaningful contributions to education, research, and community extension.

The UI GreenMetric World University Rankings is an international sustainability assessment framework that evaluates universities based on their commitment to environmental sustainability and the development of greener campuses. Its assessment covers key areas including Setting and Infrastructure (SI), Energy and Climate Change (EC), Waste (WS), Water (WR), Transportation (TR), and Education and Research (ED).

For LPC, participation in UI GreenMetric provides an important avenue to benchmark its institutional sustainability practices against higher education institutions around the world while strengthening its culture of continuous quality improvement.

The 2026 initiative further reinforces the institution's efforts to integrate governance, digitalization, environmental responsibility, education, research, and community engagement toward a more sustainable campus and institution.

𝙍𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙜𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙀𝙛𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙩

LPC recognizes the leadership of the College President Dr. Elmer De Leon, the relentless efforts and initiative of the Institutional Internationalization (IZN) Team, led by Mr. Mark Anthony Banda, IZN Deputy and QUALITI Officer, together with Ms. Julie Diaz and Ms. Queences Ricel De Guzman, Sustainable Green LPC Movement Team Leads; and Ms. April Cruz and Mr. Joemark Ablian, Education and Research Leads, whose collective work contributed to the successful preparation and submission of the institutional requirements.

The College likewise recognizes the participation of the entire LPC community in sustaining a culture of environmental responsibility, quality education, community extension, and research impact.

LPC also expresses its profound appreciation for the invaluable support of the Municipality of Limay, led by Hon. Mayor Richie Jason David and Hon. Vice Mayor Marie Grace David, together with the Sangguniang Bayan, municipal departments and offices, and the LPC Board of Trustees.

This milestone is dedicated to the people of Limay; LPC students and their families; adopted barangays; partner agencies, organizations, and institutions; and the local government whose continued support enables the College to pursue initiatives that create impact beyond the campus.

From a local institution taking its first steps into a global sustainability ranking to earning a place among universities from 110 countries for educational quality and sustainability, this achievement reflects what collective commitment, institutional systems, community participation, and continuous improvement can accomplish.

Indeed, this is a milestone worthy of commemoration, thanksgiving, and celebration for the entire LPC community and the people of Limay.
