De Leon mentors NC Faculty on crafting FLCP
Date Posted: Apr. 18, 2025
Dr. Elmer De Leon introduced the flexible learning course plan (FLCP) that his institution is implementing among faculty members of Norzagaray College at the NC auditorium, April 10. This activity served as jumpstart of the Twinning Program established by the two institutions.
Dr. De Leon walked the participants through the legal, philosophical and theoretical groundworks of the said curriculum model as a good practice in the latter's institution.
Anchored on outcomes-based education, the former presented the OBE curriculum framework and the needed vertical exit outcomes (VMO, GA&I, IO, PEO, PO, YLO, CLO, SLO) and horizontal component (outcomes, topics, delivery methods, assessment strategies) mapping to ensure alignment. He also showed samples in LPC context and format, while emphasizing the three flexible modalities and the incorporation of sustainable development goals (SDGs).
After outsmartedly responded and clarified some inquiries, the participants started crafting their own FLCPs expected to be presented and subjected for review, critiquing and commenting.
The said joint activity paved way to a more inclusive, equitable, relevant and quality delivery and processing of the curriculum toward innovative reforms in education.
