The Commission on Higher Education - Region 3 headed by Director Dr. Lora L. Yusi gathered all local college presidents with their local chief executives, local government planning officers and budget officers for synergic action toward quality and sustainable education at the Nuan's Farm and Resort, October 16.

The respected regional director commended the accomplishments of LUCs in the region for making it in the world ranking. She also boasted that the said region becomes remarkable among the rest regions having the biggest number of LUCs, in obtaining 100% Institutional Recognitions (IRs) and Certificates of Program Compliance (COPCs) and the greatest number of achievements and ranking stints.

On the other hand, the director also laid down the data on status of the 16 LUCs in the region with 4 additional newly established ones.

She also presented common findings in the CHEDRO3 onsite institutional inspection and evaluation, and the sustainability evaluation comments given by the CHED Office of Institutional Quality Assurance and Governance (OIQAG) based on the latter's submitted compliances.

She reminded that the IR and COPCs need to be regularly sustained or else, it would implicate revocation that may lead to cancelation of UniFAST grant, impediment in taking the board examinations, red ribboning, certification and authentication of documents by CHED.

To note, November will be the expected onsite inspection and evaluation by OIQAG in Central Luzon.

"Together, let us aim to make all LUCs in the region compliant to sustain the IR", UniFAST and COPCs, appealed Dr. Yusi.

Being the lone local college in the Province Bataan, LPC was lauded for its achievements and world ranking stints despite being small institution with insufficient resources but with promising and commendable system of operation and standards and community impact.

The president with the QUALITI officer, the OIC of Municipal Planning Office, and representatives of the Mayor's Office attended the said assemblage and signed in the pledge of commitment wall.

Indeed, it was the first in the country to gather both LUCs and LGUs and gladly in region 3. A history unfolds indeed.

Hence, LUC presidents appreciated and acknowledged CHEDRO3 for such wonderful and impactful initiative to assist the local colleges. #
