To equip faculty members with a comprehensive understanding of the College's academic programs, policies, and systems, Limay Polytechnic College (LPC) conducted its Annual Faculty Onboarding Orientation on July 8 at the College Library.

The orientation commenced with Ms. April Cruz, Director of Academic Affairs, who discussed the College's academic policies that serve as the foundation of instructional and academic operations.

She reiterated key provisions governing faculty responsibilities and cited common policy violations that have affected instructional delivery, student learning, and academic processes.

She emphasized that non-compliance with institutional policies may result in administrative sanctions, including disciplinary action and possible separation from service. Ms. Cruz also reminded faculty members of the pre-opening schedules and preparations for the upcoming academic year.

LPC President Dr. Elmer B. De Leon presented the College's Institutional Landscape, Strategic Directions, and Visionary Framework, providing faculty members with a clearer understanding of the institution's long-term goals and development agenda, including priority lists in the pipeline.

He likewise facilitated a session on "Case Analysis on Ethics for Professional Teachers," using actual situations to examine the application of legal provisions and the Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers, enabling participants to appreciate ethical decision-making grounded in law and professional standards.

Meanwhile, Ms. Cheyser Charrese Gatchula, Head of Information Technology Education, introduced the College's locally developed Learning Management System (LMS) and demonstrated its features in supporting teaching and learning within the LPC context. She also delivered a lecture on the Ethical Standards and Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence in the Academic System, emphasizing the proper, transparent, and ethical integration of AI tools in instruction, assessment, and academic work.

In another session, Mr. Jester Guillermo, Management Information System Officer, demonstrated the College's Electronic Grade Transmittal System, an in-house digital platform that automates the conversion of individual faculty grade sheets into student report cards, grade evaluation sheets, and transcripts of records. The system also automatically generates reports required for CHED submissions, UniFAST billing, scholarship endorsements, and requests for certificates of grades, significantly improving efficiency, ensuring data accuracy, and strengthening institutional records management.

To further enhance instructional preparedness, Dr. De Leon guided faculty members in developing contextualized LPC-framed instructional modules designed for asynchronous and offline learning delivery.

Complementing this session, Ms. Gatchula demonstrated how these modules can be transformed into digital learning materials and uploaded to the College's Learning Management System, enabling flexible and technology-enabled instruction.

The onboarding orientation provided faculty members with essential knowledge on institutional policies, professional ethics, digital innovations, responsible AI utilization, and instructional material development, ensuring that they are fully prepared to deliver quality, ethical, and learner-centered education in the upcoming academic year. #
