LIMAY, Bataan – After a week of campaigns, meeting de avance, and electronic voting process, Limay Polytechnic College (LPC) on Friday successfully proclaimed the new officers of the Supreme Student Government for Academic Year 2025–2026.

Former SSC secretary Marck Jay Mendoza from the Education Department was proclaimed as the new president of the highest student governing body after garnering a total of 1,221 votes.

Joining Mendoza were other newly elected officersβ€”Lance Borjal with 1,083 votes as vice president, Venice Velasco (934) as secretary, Renier Espadilla (975) as treasurer, Charles Castillo (977) as auditor, Nick Robles (784) as business manager, Josh LaspiΓ±as (950) as public information officer, and Krisha Hizon (1,063) as peace officer, respectively.

The 3rd Pasa-masid (Pass and View) was held immediately after casting the last vote and the proclamation of the electorate. Incumbent and outgoing SSC President Jenny Santos turned over the LPC emblem to Mendoza, symbolizing the transfer of responsibility that he will carry on throughout his term.

The Officer of the Student Affairs and Discipline Services (OSADS) Jesica Marata, along with the LPC College President Dr. Elmer De Leon and Chair of SB Education Committee Hon. Remigio Tayag, Jr. witnessed the traditional ceremonial event.

Dr. De Leon, Hon. Tayag, and Ms. Santos also gave their congratulatory messages for the newly elected officials.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,261 out of 1,705 students participated in this year’s SSC poll, resulting in a 76.96% voters’ turnout, while the remaining 444 or 26.06%, were not able to cast their votesβ€”most of whom were fourth year students currently deployed for their internship training and the rest, who did not have classes on that day, missed to come, according to the data.

Moreover, their term of service is expected to begin after they officially take their oath during the Pagtatalaga 2025 scheduled in September.

The Pasa-masid (Pass and View) is a traditional legacy turnover at LPC after the newly elected SSC officers are officially proclaimed, wherein the incumbent SSC president turns-over the leadership legacy to the new president and he/she climbs the stairs going to the veranda to raise the LPC flag while the hymn is being played. This signals start of his/her leadership reign. #
