Date Posted: May. 17, 2026
After successfully completing the subsequent three-day training and passing the assessment and return skill demonstration simulation exercises on February 18-20, 2026, participating administrators, faculty, staff and student leaders were officially certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid.
This was confirmed by Ms. Maricar Reyes, Assistant Head of the Limay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (LDRRM) Office, when she personally handed in the certificates and official identification cards to College President Dr. Elmer De Leon on Thursday, May 14, following the validation of participantsβ complete attendance and assessment results.
Accordingly, the issued identification cards shall remain valid for two years, and renewable after two years recognizing the holders as certified Basic Life Support and First Aid providers.
The initiative serves both as compliance with institutional and government safety requirements and as a purposive measure to strengthen preparedness during unavoidable adversities and emergency situations.
Dr. De Leon commended the LDRRM, through Ms. Reyes, for a job well done and expressed his unwavering appreciation and recognition for the officeβs continuous support and assistance to LPC in its pursuit of achieving a fully trained and emergency-ready College community.
The activity further reflects LPCβs commitment to emergency preparedness and its advocacy toward attaining zero casualties during incidents and emergencies.
To note, LPC has maintained its partnership with the LDRRM for almost five years through various emergency preparedness initiatives, including drills, simulations, inspections, and capability-building activities, continually strengthening the institution as a safe environment for learning, working, and community engagement. #
