The Supreme Student Council, LAMPARA staff, and student organization officers of Limay Polytechnic College joined forces in responding to the invitation of the Young Bataeños for Environmental Advocacy Network (Young BEAN), Eco Waste Coalition, and Nuclear Free Movement for the Mangrove Clean-up Drive, with some officials and residents of Orion, in celebration of Eco Waste's 25th Anniversary at Brgy. Camachile, Orion, Bataan, on January 19.
Council Leader and Committee Head on Education Carl Perez delivered a message stressing the goal of the activity, which was environmental protection and preservation through coastal care for mangrove preservation. Meanwhile, Sangguniang Bayan and Environment Committee member Brgy. Coun. Rafael David addressed the challenges in managing environmental waste reduction advocacy and efforts.
On the other hand, Enrique Beren, Secretary-General of Young BEAN, emphasized and reiterated everyone's role and responsibility in tackling worldwide challenges in managing the plastic waste problem. Holding their environmental placards and posters and carrying their cleaning tools, the volunteers worked together on coastal and mangrove clean-up.
Truly, LPC supports the mangrove care advocacy as one of the thrusts of its Environmental Care and Protection Program, emphasizing its importance as stated in the institutional goals. In fact, LPC has crafted a solution to this global issue through Pamahayanan 2.0 Ground Zero (Pamahamahala sa Sambahayan at Pamayanan), which is actively in place and creating a positive impact geared toward sustainable development.
