Limay Polytechnic College (LPC) participated in the four-day Cultural Tourism Development Workshop conducted by the Bataan Provincial Tourism Office, together with the Bataan Peninsula Tourism Council Foundation Inc, and Department of Tourism Region III, in preparation for the 84th commemoration of Araw ng Kagitingan this April, held at the Bataan Tourism Pavilion in the City of Balanga, Bataan, from March 3 to 6.
Participants from the 12 local government units of Bataan attended the activity, represented by their respective city and municipal tourism officers, choreographers, musicians, and directors.
Representing LPC in the workshop were Joemark Ablian, research and extension development director; Danreve Apostol, college instructor; and John Rudolph Barbin, media communication and public information officer; together with Limay tourism officer Arthur Quezon.
Throughout the four-day training, participants engaged in lectures, creative exercises, and collaborative sessions focused on integrating history and performing arts to develop concepts for the Araw ng Kagitingan dance-musical theater presentations of participating LGUs.
The workshop featured resource speakers and experts in the field of performing arts, including Nilo C. Agustin; Anthony Cruz; JM Ursula; Frank Rivera; and Arnel del Rosario.
Meanwhile, participating groups presented their musical theater and dance presentation for evaluation on the final day of the workshop, where the combined team of Limay, Dinalupihan, and Hermosa received the Best Music award for their original composition featured in the performance, composed by Barbin of LPC. #
