𝗖𝗢𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗘 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | LPC to reinvigorate Alumni Affairs toward continuous quality improvement

Date Posted: Sep. 22, 2025

Limay Polytechnic College (LPC) President Dr. Elmer De Leon met with Mr. John Rudolph Barbin, designated coordinator of Alumni Affairs and Development (AAD) to discuss plans of revitalizing the alumni affairs and segment, September 20.

Indeed, considering alumni as a great measure of immediate and sustainable institutional outcomes, LPC is now considering some major developments and innovations on its end, making it more dynamic, visible and engaging, other than just being representational in nature.
Part of the discussion led to restructuring and redefining of said organization.

As such, it was considered a need for a set of officers who will assume and commit responsibilities for the welfare, development, tracing and continuous recognition of alumni for their deserving achievements that the school may not be aware of.

Therefore, the close coordination between the Alumni Affairs Unit and the Alumni Association will be of great help in bringing plans, programs and projects in place toward making impact on the institution, the students and the graduates.

Part of the plans toward new direction of the AADU include:

(1) Crafting of Constitution and By-laws; (2) Empowering alumni affairs promotion by having an official social media account and a space in the website and LPC Page; (3) Bi-weekly featuring of successful and accomplished alumni in the page and website called "DA' SPARK" (Dangal-Alumni Spark), while collating them in the depository page called "Wall of Fame" in the website; (4) Preparation of Alumni Coffee Table Book to be launched on the school's 30th Founding Anniversary in 2027; (5) Organization of Alumni Batch Chapters, inviting and assisting them in setting reunions; (6) Plan and preparation for the 2nd Grand Alumni Homecoming on the 30th Founding Year; (7) Continuous tracing of alumni, and preparation of an official directory; (8) Conducting of alumni impact study; (9) Live streaming of Dangal-Alumni Podcast and Broadcast; and (10) Setting of a space in the campus, either an alumni garden or alumni walk of fame and the Alumni Gallery Museum, other than the current Dangal-Alumni Bulletin board.

Currently, the annual tribute and recognition to successful alumni happens every institutional foundation celebration as part of Stakeholders' Appreciation Program. It is also remarkable to consider the continuous tracing of graduates, the Dangal-Alumni Gallery Board, invitation and tribute to, and citation of successful and accomplished alumni during honors convocations, special occasions, seminars and workshops, competitions as judge/s, research defense and colloquia as members of panel of evaluators, curriculum review and academe- industry fora conducted by LPC.

Some accomplished alumni have partnered with LPC or assisted in its networking and linkages along specific areas.

True enough that with these major innovations set in place, it is then, expected that alumni would take a huge part in the school's operation and total development and yet, as feedback inputs for continuous quality improvement (CQI). #
