Limay Polytechnic College (LPC) on Wednesday officially opened its 2026 Institutional Capacity Building Program at the LPC Audio-Visual Room, bringing together administrators, faculty members and staff under the theme, โ€œSustaining Standards through Good Governance and Quality Assurance,โ€ to strengthen the institutionโ€™s commitment to excellence, strategic development and accreditation readiness, July 1.

The program commenced with opening remarks and a statement of purpose delivered by Dr. John Levy Rueda, head of the Business and Accountancy Department, who highlighted the importance of the activity in promoting institutional growth, organizational excellence and continuous improvement.

โ€œTodayโ€™s session will guide us in reflecting on our institutional direction and identifying ways to further strengthen our programs and operations. It will also allow us to learn from one another while aligning our efforts toward achieving our shared goals as one academic community,โ€ he said.
College President Dr. Elmer B. De Leon welcomed the newly hired employees to the LPC community before presenting the collegeโ€™s institutional strategic direction.

He pointed out the importance of shared commitment and collaboration in advancing the institutionโ€™s mission and vision.

Dr. De Leon also discussed the accreditation process and its vital role in achieving educational excellence and ensuring compliance with quality assurance standards.

The afternoon session featured a discussion on LPCโ€™s quality assurance and internationalization initiatives led by QA/IZN Officer Mr. Mark Anthony B. Banda.

He emphasized strategies to strengthen institutional competitiveness and promote continuous quality enhancement in higher education while encouraging every member of the college community to actively contribute to sustaining a culture of excellence.

Mr. Banda also expressed his gratitude to the faculty and staff whose collective efforts contributed to LPCโ€™s recognition in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2026 and the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Reimagine Education Awards 2025.

Meanwhile, Media Communication and Public Information Officer Mr. John Rudolph Barbin conducted an orientation on the Institutional Brand Manual, noting the importance of maintaining a unified institutional identity.

Information Technology Education Department Head Ms. Cheyser Charesse C. Gatchula also demonstrated innovative systems for institutional adoption before participants concluded the dayโ€™s sessions with a Commitment Ceremony and a pledge affirming their dedication to quality and continuous institutional improvement for Academic Year 2026โ€“2027.

Meanwhile, the weeklong Institutional Capacity Building Program will continue with sessions on Research, Curriculum Quality Audit and Mapping of Alignment, Employeesโ€™ Onboarding Orientation, and an Orientation on the ALCUCOA Accreditation Process and Standards, further equipping faculty and staff to support the collegeโ€™s quality assurance and institutional development initiatives. #
