𝗖𝗢𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗘 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | MENRO-Orion partners with LPC for Environmental Care Projects and Programs

Limay Polytechnic College (LPC) continues to strengthen its community and environmental engagement through a new partnership with the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) of Orion for the implementation of environment-related projects and programs.

The partnership brings together MENRO-Orion, LPC’s Enviro-care Organization, Community Extension Center, and National Service Training Program (NSTP) in advancing initiatives focused on environmental protection, awareness, and youth participation.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between MENRO-Orion and LPC was formally signed on September 22, 2026, at the Office of the College President.

The agreement provides a framework for joint efforts and collaborative engagement in various environmental programs and community-based activities.

Among the areas identified for collaboration are coastal clean-up activities, mangrove care and rehabilitation, tree planting, waste management and segregation, environmental awareness training and orientation, environmental symposiums, and youth empowerment programs for environmental protection.

Accordingly, MENRO-Orion is also willing involve in LPC's Pamahayanan 2.0: Ground Waste Zero.

The partnership builds on the institutions’ initial collaboration, with LPC recently joining MENRO-Orion in its International Coastal Cleaning Project, demonstrating the College’s commitment to translating environmental advocacy into concrete community action.

The MOU signing was attended by Ms. Margarita Pangan, Officer-in-Charge of MENRO-Orion, and Mr. Jerwin Samson, Administrative Staff, with Ms. Kathleen Ann Belmonte, Federated SK-Orion President, serving as witness.

Representing LPC were Dr. Elmer De Leon, College President, and Ms. Julie Diaz, NSTP and Community Development Coordinator, witnessed by Mr. Joey Gueva, Assistant Researcher and Extensionist.

The signing ceremony was arranged and facilitated by Mr. Mark Anthony Banda, QUALITI Officer, with Mr. John Rudolph Barbin, Media Communication and Public Information Officer, serving as documenter.

The partnership reflects LPC’s commitment to community-responsive extension, environmental stewardship, and youth empowerment.

Through the convergence of academic institutions, local government environmental authorities, and student organizations, the initiative seeks to provide meaningful opportunities for students to participate in environmental protection, while contributing to the sustainability and well-being of local communities.

For LPC, environmental care is strengthened when education, community engagement, and collective action converge - turning environmental awareness into sustained programs and purposeful service. #
