Date Posted: Sep. 03, 2025

After students have completed their preliminary programs, such as onboard training, Lampara Investiture, send-off program, document preparations, Memorandum of Agreement processing and transmittal, the first batch of preservice teachers in the elementary education were endorsed to respective cooperating schools in the Districts of Limay and Orion to have their year-long internship experience and immersion opportunities, while being mentored and monitored by their assigned cooperating teachers for school year 2025-2026.

As stipulated in the transacted MOA, the preservice teachers may assist the cooperating teachers in managing the class, learning assessment and other related tasks. They may also be allowed to facilitate parts of the lesson in a gradual manner under their CTs' coaching and mentoring process. Thereafter, the latter's participation and execution shall be evaluated and commented in a scheduled post-conference.

Preservice teachers shall observe the class and inquire from their mentors matters concerning the class and the intended teaching methodologies, while they will be required to prepare lesson plans and instructional materials. At the latter part, they will be allowed to teach a lesson in a guided, assistive and monitored manner by way of class observation. Regular consultation and feedbacking shall also be made with the Internship coordinator from LPC.

To note further, the practice teaching or internship program at LPC entails whole year immersion approach which means that the preservice teachers shall stay in their cooperating schools with their cooperating teachers within their class schedules. Preferably, they don't have any more classes, neither thesis in time of their internship. This is to give full attention and focus on their internship tasks and activities.

As such, through arrangement with the schools, the latter may have a rotating internship to different school settings or grade levels in same schools in two different semesters.

The latter were accompanied by Ms. April Cruz, head of Teacher Education Department, Ms. Jana Marie Mangune, Practicum coordinator and Mr. Francis Syre Dee San Pedro, BEED faculty to their assigned cooperating schools for deployment.
