Limay Polytechnic College (LPC) welcomed officials from Pambayang Dalubhasaan ng Marilao (PDM) for a benchmarking activity focused on institutional best practices, internationalization, and quality assurance on July 24.

The benchmarking activity served as a platform for both institutions to exchange experiences, innovative strategies, and effective practices that promote academic excellence, institutional development, and good governance.

LPC Academic Director and Head of the Teacher Education Department Ms. April R. Cruz opened the program, emphasizing that benchmarking is an opportunity to build meaningful partnerships while identifying strategies for continuous institutional improvement.

“Institutional benchmarking is not merely about comparing programs, processes, or achievements. It is about building meaningful partnerships, identifying areas for improvement, and strengthening our shared commitment to providing quality and relevant education to our students,” Cruz said.

LPC President Dr. Elmer B. De Leon presented the College’s institutional journey, strategic direction, and major accomplishments, highlighting its initiatives in internationalization, quality assurance, academic management, and partnerships that have contributed to the College’s sustained growth.

“As you can see, we only have a few people but are able to accomplish a lot of achievements. It’s because of everyone’s effort. We have problems, but at the end of the day, we resolve them. We share happiness, and we share loneliness, but at the end of the day, in terms of service, we are together. And that’s our strength,” De Leon said.

During the open forum, PDM officials raised questions on LPC’s internationalization initiatives, governance, quality assurance mechanisms, and institutional operations, which were addressed by Dr. De Leon, Quality Assurance and Internationalization (QAIZN) Officer Mr. Mark Anthony Banda, and other college officials.

The benchmarking activity also featured the signing of a memorandum of agreement (MOA) between LPC and PDM, strengthening institutional ties and opening opportunities for future collaborations in academic programs, research, extension, and other initiatives.

PDM College President Dr. Ma. Theresa B. Aquino expressed her appreciation for LPC’s openness in sharing its experiences and acknowledged the institution’s collaborative culture.

“I would like to thank Dr. Elmer and his team because we have the same sentiments and the same experiences. I am also glad that everyone in LPC enjoys helping each other for the betterment of the institution. Kami rin po, we expect that we will learn from what you have shared today so that we can implement it in our school. Again, thank you very much for the warm accommodation,” Aquino said.

The activity concluded with the presentation of certificates and commemorative tokens, followed by a campus tour showcasing LPC’s accomplishments in internationalization, research, extension, quality assurance, and other institutional best practices. #
