Limay Polytechnic Collegeβs (LPC) Information and Technology Education (ITE) Department Head, Cheyser Charresse C. Gatchula on Saturday, March 14, participated in the Philippine Book Festival 2026 held at the Mega Trade Hall of SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City, where she also took part in a book signing session featuring books she wrote and illustrated.
During the festival, books written and illustrated by Ms. Gatchula were displayed at the booths of four publishing houses, marking a milestone in her career as a writer and illustrator.
The featured publishers included Lampara Books, ABC Educational Development Center Childrenβs Books, CentralBooks, and Johnny and Hansel Publications, all known for producing educational and childrenβs literature in the Philippines.
Aside from viewing the display of the books she illustrated, Ms. Gatchula also met readers and supporters during a book signing session at the festival.
In her social media post, she described the experience as an βI finally did itβ moment, saying she felt overwhelmed with joy upon seeing the books she illustrated placed on display shelves at the event.
She said her visit to the festival was spontaneous but meaningful, noting that seeing her illustrated works publicly displayed made the sleepless nights spent on the projects worthwhile.
Ms. Gatchula also expressed gratitude to the writers and publishers who entrusted her with illustrating their books, saying their continued support helped her pursue her passion for visual storytelling.
