Date Posted: Oct. 26, 2026
Limay Polytechnic College (LPC) students, predominantly members of the Environmental Care Advocate Society (ECAS) and students from the Business Administration program, joined fellow youth and student participants from across Bataan in the two-day GreenPRO Training of Trainers entitled โPagsasanay sa Makakalikasang Pagnenegosyo ng mga Kabataan,โ held on October 24โ25, 2026, at Pan Hotel and Resort in Abucay, Bataan.
The training was conducted by the Center for Disaster Preparedness Foundation, Inc. (CDPFI), in partnership with Young BEAN, under the GreenPRO Program (Pioneers for a Green Future: Green Income Prospects for Marginalized Young People).
The initiative seeks to advance a green economy by equipping marginalized young people, including youth with disabilities, with practical knowledge and skills to develop sustainable livelihoods and establish youth-led green enterprises.
It underscores the potential of young people to transform environmental challenges into viable economic opportunities while promoting social inclusion and community resilience.
Turning Environmental Awareness into Green Opportunities
Through the training, LPC student-participants gained valuable insights and practical learning experiences on environmentally responsible entrepreneurship.
The activity encouraged them to explore innovative business concepts that integrate sustainability, resource conservation, and inclusive economic growth.
By bringing together environmental advocates and aspiring entrepreneurs, the initiative highlighted how environmental responsibility can extend beyond awareness campaigns and become a foundation for livelihood generation, community-based enterprises, and sustainable local development.
The participation of students from both ECAS and Business Administration further reinforced the connection between environmental stewardship and entrepreneurshipโdemonstrating that protecting the environment and creating economic opportunities can work hand in hand.
The students were accompanied by Ms. Julie Ann Diaz, Environmental Coordinator, and Ms. Alyssa Mae Saberdo, Civic-Youth Builder Adviser, who provided guidance and assistance throughout the activity.
The participants expressed their appreciation to Limay Polytechnic College for its continued support and for providing opportunities to engage in learning experiences beyond the classroom.
They also acknowledged CDPFI and Young BEAN for providing an opportunity to be invited in this significant event.
Advancing LPCโs Green Campus Vision
The training complements LPCโs continuing commitment to environmental sustainability and its aspiration to develop a green campus where responsible practices are reflected in studentsโ knowledge, decisions, and everyday actions.
More importantly, the experience challenges student-participants to translate what they have learned into practical initiatives within the College and their respective communities.
Through green entrepreneurship, they can help promote waste reduction, resource efficiency, environmentally responsible products and services, and livelihood opportunities that benefit both people and the planet.
As LPC continues to strengthen its sustainability initiatives, the participation of its students in programs such as GreenPRO reinforces the importance of developing environmentally conscious, socially responsible, and innovative future leaders.
From green ideas to sustainable enterprises, LPC empowers its students to become catalysts of changeโproving that protecting the environment can also create livelihoods, strengthen communities, and inspire a more sustainable future for all. #
