Limay Polytechnic College employees paved way to Botolan, Zambales for their annual GAD covenant, benchmarking Lenten Pilgrimage, cultural immersion and social fellowship, while on mental health break, April 14-15.
This year's program revolved around the theme: GOD..GAD..GLAD "A Journey of Reflection and Innovation: Academic Benchmarking, Pilgrimage, Mental Health and Gender and Development".
As indicated in the itinerary, the group contained in two vehicle vans from LPC, approached Polytechnic College of Botolan for the benchmarking activity, visited historic churches, such as Ina Poon Bato Church (Miraculous Mother's Shrine or Miraculous Lady of the Aeta built since 1607, a glimpse of Botolan Museum and warm stay at Camp Kainomayan for the GAD covenant, mental health session and social fellowship. The group also dropped by delicacy and fruit stores for pasalubong and had a stop at Harbor Point Mall in Olongapo City.
Accordingly, the group enjoyed their stay at comfortable lodges, relaxing ambience perfect for photo opportunities at scenic sites and sumptuous food while floating in cold natural water streams. Most of all, they appreciated meeting wonderful people in Botolan, while learning their unique culture, historic place, amazing delis and hand-made products and genuine practices.
Although the group regretted to explore and glimpse the Mt. Pinatubo crater and experience the 4by4 ride due to time constraint, they considered it as another itinerary for future explorations. Anyway, they were able to view its peak through pictures and miniatures exhibited at the museum.
