Limay Polytechnic College (LPC) has renewed its student insurance policy to ensure the continuity of accident and illness insurance coverage for its students in 2027, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to student welfare, financial protection, and a safe and supportive learning environment.

As part of the renewal process, representatives of the selected insurance provider visited the College for the initial processing of the renewed policy and an orientation on the corresponding insurance arrangements and coverage.

The representatives were received by Ms. April Cruz, Director of Academic Affairs, who represented the College President while he was in Southeast Asian professional engagement; Ms. Sheryl Bartolo, Finance Officer and Insurance Focal Person; and Mr. Mark Anthony Banda, Administrative Assistant to the College President.

The renewal ensures the continued availability of insurance assistance that can help students cope with the financial implications of unexpected accidents and covered illnesses.

Depending on the terms and conditions of the policy, the insurance may provide assistance for eligible medical expenses, hospitalization, medication, and other covered costs associated with treatment, recuperation until full recovery.

The College recognizes the importance of this protection, particularly for students and their families who may face unexpected medical expenses.

Previous claims by students who needed assistance demonstrate the practical value of maintaining this insurance privilege as part of the institution’s student support services.

Beyond providing financial protection, the insurance coverage also supports students participating in off-campus academic activities, sports competitions, and other institutional engagements where appropriate insurance coverage may be required.

This helps ensure that students can represent the College and participate in authorized activities with an added layer of protection.

The initiative forms part of the student support benefits associated with the UniFAST Free Higher Education Program, which seeks to broaden access to higher education and help ease the financial burden of pursuing a college degree.

LPC therefore, expresses its sincere appreciation to the UniFAST Board for sustaining initiatives that complement free higher education with meaningful student welfare benefits.

This support reinforces the College’s commitment to making education more accessible, while helping students prepare for unforeseen circumstances that may affect their health, safety, and financial well-being.

Through the leadership of College President Dr. Elmer B. De Leon, LPC continues to strengthen institutional measures that place student welfare at the center of its operations.

The renewal of the insurance policy reflects the College’s continuing efforts to provide responsive, inclusive, and student-centered services that complement its academic programs and promote student success.

As LPC advances its institutional priorities, the College remains committed to safeguarding its students through sustained partnerships, responsive support mechanisms, and responsible institutional management.

At LPC, student protection goes beyond classroom instructionβ€”it is an enduring commitment to their welfare, security, and successful completion of their educational journey. #
