Limay Polytechnic College (LPC) is gearing up for a bigger, bolder, and more inclusive celebration of sportsmanship as the Sports Management Committee presented its plans and proposals for the much-anticipated Dangal Palaro 2026, the Collegeโ€™s annual intramural sports event.

Led by Mr. Angelo Gregorio, Sports Development and Management Coordinator, the Committee visited the Office of the College President to present the proposed activities, program arrangements, and operational requirements for this yearโ€™s sports festival.

The consultation covered essential preparations, including event dates and schedules, opening and closing ceremonies, common attire, crowd management and safety measures, prizes and awards, game guidelines and mechanics, proposed budget, and invited guests.

The meeting also facilitated the refinement of program components, the finalization of schedules, and the review of proposed guests in preparation for the eventโ€™s formal approval and implementation.

Advancing a Bigger, Bolder, and More Inclusive Sports Festival

Anchored on the theme โ€œDangal Palaro 2026: Tibay, Lakas at Pagkakaisa,โ€ this yearโ€™s intramural games aim to celebrate physical strength, determination, teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and unity among LPCians.

The College is also exploring the possibility of inviting a renowned personality in the field of sports to grace the occasion and lead the ceremonial kickoff, subject to availability and confirmation.

Such participation is envisioned to inspire student-athletes and encourage the entire academic community to pursue excellence, perseverance, and a stronger appreciation of sports.

The Committee, together with the Supreme Student Council is collaborating and coordinating with the Bataan Provincial Youth and Sports Committees, Sangguniang Kabataan Groups and Barangay Health Committees for expanded engagement.

In pursuit of a more inclusive and engaging celebration, the proposed activities will also feature selected matches and recreational events for faculty members, administrative personnel, LGBTQ+ participants, and invited guests.

These activities are intended to encourage broader participation, strengthen camaraderie across institutional sectors, and promote respect, equality, and a sense of belonging among members of the College community.

Strengthening Event Identity and Institutional Branding

Beyond the sporting competitions, the Committee is reconceptualizing the eventโ€™s visual identity through distinctive background designs, symbols, and character representations that reflect the spirit and values of Dangal Palaro 2026.

Preparations also include the development of signature designs for awards and recognition materials to establish a consistent visual identity across the eventโ€™s ceremonies and competitions.

The proposed branding seeks to make this yearโ€™s celebration more memorable while reinforcing LPCโ€™s institutional identity and the values associated with the Dangal LPCian.

Meanwhile, the proposed budget is undergoing the necessary processing, while the preparation of awards and other logistical requirements continues in anticipation of the event.

Building Unity Through Sports and Shared Excellence

LPC continues to support sports development as an integral component of holistic education, student engagement, leadership formation, and institutional community-building.

Dangal Palaro serves as more than an annual athletic competition. It provides an avenue for students to demonstrate their abilities, develop discipline and resilience, strengthen friendships, and learn the value of teamwork, fair play, and mutual respect.

It also creates opportunities for faculty members, employees, and other stakeholders to connect beyond their usual academic and administrative responsibilities.

As the College moves forward with its preparations, the LPC community can look forward to the forthcoming release of the finalized program, competition schedules, ceremonial activities, and other exciting event details.

With โ€œTibay, Lakas at Pagkakaisaโ€ as its guiding theme, Dangal Palaro 2026 promises to be a spirited celebration of athletic excellence, inclusivity, and collective prideโ€”another significant institutional event that brings LPCians together in the true spirit of Dangal.

Members of the Sports Development and Management Committee behind the preparations for the Dangal Palaro 2026 were Mr. Angelo Gregorio (chair), Ms. Fibie Nigrido (vice chair), Members Ms. Jesica Marata, Mr. John Rudolph Barbin and Mr. Mark Anthony Banda.

The following were also invited in the consultation meeting: Academic Department Heads Ms. April Cruz, Dr. John Levy Barbin, and Ms. Cheyser Charrese Gatchula and Ms. Sheryl Bartolo (Finance, Supply and Custodian Officer). #
