Limay Polytechnic College initiated efforts to organize a research-based, creative cultural dance festival in the Municipality of Limay, in partnership with the Municipal Tourism Council (MTC).

The said research project undergoes a three-stage process: (1) cultural ethnographic analysis; (2) exploratory creative development; and (3) skill performance assessment.

The said creative performance research intends to: (1) elucidate cultural narratives and explore historical and geographic context of Municipality of Limay; (2) create relevant festival concept and dance rhythms; (3) compose original music accompaniment with original lyrics based on ethnographic transcript data; (4) execute creative cultural festival with graceful dance steps, appropriate props and costumes in tune of composed rhythmic music; and (5) evaluate festival dance performance and rhythmic execution for finalization of the piece.

The validation will also undergo three stages, namely: (1) assessment by invited PE teachers, music composers, and choreographers; (2) validation by experts from the Cultural Center of the Philippines, National Commission on Culture and Arts, Philippine Folk Dance Society; and (4) Limay Tourism Council, Sangguniang Bayan and Municipal officials for final approval and resolution.

Currently, the team has accomplished an initial coordination meeting with the Municipal Tourism Council, headed by Hon. VM Marie Grace David. The memorandum of understanding was already finalized and legally approved for signing between LPC and MTC.

To date, the research project is being fast-tracked to catch up with the upcoming Fiesta or on Limay Foundation Day for its grand launch.
