𝗖𝗢𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗘 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | CHEDRO 3 unlocks Pasinaya Program; De Leon presents IZN best practice and LPC experience
Date Posted: Oct. 31, 2025
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region 3 held the Pasinaya 2025 or the Executive Session with select higher education institutions on Internationalization Ranking Journeys, TNHE matters and compliance with CMO No. 3, s. 2025 at the Hotel Seoul, Clark City, Pampanga, October 30.
Accordingly, the said gathering intended to prepare academic stakeholders for international rankings, navigate authorizations and yield alliances.
CHEDRO3 Dir. Dr. Lora Yusi mentioned LPC's distinct innovative project that made it in the WURI 2025, and she also announced its latest recognition of the remarkable, renowned and reputable QS Reimagine Education.
In capsule, Dr. Ravelina Velasco, Vice President for Academic Affairs of Central Luzon State University had her talk on Widening University Readiness for International Rankings.
Hence, five institutions presented their best practices, strategies and winning moments in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI), including Limay Polytechnic College (Bataan). Others were Botolan Polytechnic College (Zambales), Gordon College (Olongapo City), City College of San Fernando (Pampanga) and Holy Angel University (Angeles City).
Limay Polytechnic College (LPC) President Dr. Elmer De Leon's witty presentation of LPC's attempts, challenges and success in making it in the WURI stint despite the school's size, nature, capacities and limited resources gained the attention and interest of spectators, including the CHEDRO officials and RD Lora Yusi.
As such, his simple, direct and life changing and impact-driven articulation of "Pangahas (Assertive) Station: A Road to LPC's Internationalization Journey" portraited by a roller coaster train, carried his goal of aspiring to inspire small schools, like LPC with an encouragement to pursue a braving attempt, a concept that he just organized during the prior part of the program.
He also played a video made by students to clearly show evidence of LPC's WURI project entry.
Dr. De Leon was with Mr. Mark Anthony Banda, LPC's admin asst. and QUALITI officer, who prepared his visual and powerpoint material just during the preceding presentations. But amazingly, he did it well despite being in a knick of time situation, the way LPCians have been trained.
"There is no such big or small institution that can make this far in the light of quality education. As a local college, this institution would remain with its mantra of being empowered to create global impact and would always aspire to inspire others to dream big with small steps," reminded Dr. De Leon.
"Thus, at LPC, we go farther beyond classroom walls, build communities and create impact to generations.
More than the recognitions and rankings is a heart full of purposeful servitude and meaningful gratitude. We don't have much resources, yet, we are still willing to give; we are not wealthy, but are still willing to share and extend to the society; we don't have much capacities, but we can make a difference.
This is our story, a well-lived experience and mighty contribution to sustainable development-driven earth. Kung kinaya namin, higit na kayang-kaya nyo rin. Sama-sama tayong umangat sa ngalan ng pagbabago at pag-unlad para sa minamahal nating bansang Pilipinas," as his encouragement to end his piece, of which elated everyone reflected on. #
