A tripartite collaborative partnership was set among Polytechnic University Philippines (PUP) - Main, Sta. Mesa, Limay Polytechnic College (LPC), and the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) of Limay, highlighting environmental extension projects initiated by PUP, such as the tree planting set in October and coastal clean-up in December in the coastal areas of Lamao and uplands of Kinaragan, Upper Duale, respectively.

Taking the lead, the PUP conducted an initial site visit, courtesy call and integration discussion meeting with LPC and MENRO.

They also met Hon. Leila Cruz, Barangay captain of Lamao and her officials at the Barangay Hall and Hon. Johnny Cerezo, Barangay captain of Duale and his officials. They were visited the coastal and planting sites where the extension activities will be conducted upon being coordinated with two said barangays.

Present in the said initial activities were the PUP Extension Management Team led by Director Dr. Rolan J. Malvar; Dr. Edcon Baccay, Chief of the Extension Linkages & Technology Transfer Section; Dr. Angelita Villaruel, Chief of the Extension Support Monitoring and Evaluation Section; Assoc. Prof. Airavie Joy DR. Austria, Chief of Community Relations and Outreach Services Section; and Ms. Mariah Sharmaine S. Laquigan from PUP Day Care Center, respectively.

Meanwhile, the LPC Team was composed of Dr. Elmer De Leon, president; Ms. Ann Lou Rochelle Santiago, Extension Program Officer; Ms. Julie Diaz, Community Development coordinator; Dr. John Levy Rueda. head of Business and Accountancy Department (representing Mr. Joemark Ablian, RDE director); Mr. Mark Anthony Banda, QUALITI Officer; and Mr. John Rudolph Barbin, Media and Public Information officer.

The MENRO was represented by Mr. Johnny Mandocdoc, department head with his three staff.

The whole day activity left a significant and meaningful impact among the three entity partners as they realized the intended purposes of the activity through proper endorsement and coordination process.

The said joint crusade aims to strengthen institutional and agency ties and explore collaborative efforts and wider opportunities among PUP, LPC and MENRO through environmental projects.

A memorandum of undertaking is set for this purpose once the review of its content is completed by the said parties which is now currently in place. #
