Limay Polytechnic College (LPC) Dr. Elmer de Leon was invited to serve as a member of an accrediting team that conducted an accreditation consultation and orientation for a private teacher education institution in Ormoc City, Leyte, on April 10β11.
The activity focused on the institutionβs Bachelor of Elementary Education and Bachelor of Secondary Education programs, with specializations in Filipino, English, Science, Mathematics, and Social Studies.
It aimed to strengthen institutional readiness and alignment with established quality assurance standards in teacher education.
During a breakout session, Dr. de Leon engaged with the institutional team, composed of the dean, program coordinator, and faculty members, to discuss the core standards of quality teacher education. He provided insights on curriculum alignment, outcomes-based instruction, and the development of responsive and relevant teaching practices.
Dr. de Leon also recommended strategic approaches for continuous quality improvement and program sustainability, emphasizing effective administrative structures, coherent curriculum design, and evidence-based instructional delivery.
As part of the engagement, the accrediting team conducted site visits to key facilities and laboratories, offering further recommendations to enhance the institutionβs learning environment and instructional resources.
The host institution expressed its appreciation for Dr. de Leonβs valuable contributions, citing his expertise, professional experience, and updates on current trends, innovations, and standards in teacher education. #
