The Association of Local Colleges and Universities held its National Convention attended in by local college presidents and academic management at the Heritage Hotel, Pasay City, October 27-28.

Limay Polytechnic College (LPC) President Dr. Elmer De Leon joined the rest LUC presidents in the country in this informative and significant assembly.

Presentation of updates, trends and issues confronting the local institutions that may serve as driving tools in sustaining the LUCs amidst the rapidly changing time, economic crisis, further national developments, knowledge building and education growth in the country, considering the very special and distinct role of LUCs in catering to learners from marginalized communities and depressed areas.

As such, on the first day, the following topics were presented: EDCOM 2 Report by Education Director Dr. Carol Mark Yee; Ladderization of Technical-Vocational by TESDA Sec. Hon. Jose Francisco Benitez; Digitization and Smart Technologies by DICT ASEC Hon. Philip Varilla; amd Microcredentialing by Asia Pacific College Pres. Dr. Ma. Teresita Medado.

ALCU Pres. Raymund Arcega inspired and challenged all the attending presidents to keep moving forward and carrying such responsibilities and resolving challenges ahead. This is, indeed, championing education in the marginalized sector that is least cared and prioritized.

Learning from presentations of impactful and relevant topics and sharing of insights truly made every participant appreciative, while upbringing the challenges that the latter would face when they go back to their respective institutions with regained strength and empowerment. #
