Date Posted: Mar. 29, 2023

Great women in the Municipality of Limay were given tribute and recognition on March 28, 2023, at the Limay Multipurpose Complex as a culminating event of the Women’s Month Celebration.

The nomination was opened to the public by posting the announcement on the 1Limay official Facebook page, Limay Polytechnic College's official website and Facebook page, and other social media platforms shared with everyone. It was also uploaded to the digital board at the LPC Quadrangle fronting the national road, which ran for several weeks. The nomination was made possible through an "others" or self-nomination process.

The Committee decided to make it sectoral to represent specific professional and social clusters and sectors. Awardees underwent a tedious selection process through document review and analysis by the Members of the Jury, who took their time scrutinizing every nominee. They were judged based on the criteria set forth for this purpose, which included social impact (40%), advocacy (30%), achievements (20%), and character (10%).

The preliminary screening was conducted by the Committee, where those who passed were moved to the final round. This final selection was reviewed by a Jury composed of representatives from the Sangguniang Bayan Committee on Women, the Department of Interior and Local Government, LGU Human Resource Management, the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, and the Limay Polytechnic College Board of Trustees. After deliberating on the results of the nominees’ document evaluations, the awardees and recipients of the prestigious Parangal were finalized. They were then invited to join the Recognition Day on March 28, 2023, at the Limay Multipurpose Hall, Poblacion, Limay, Bataan.

The sectoral awardees included:

Dr. Lourdes Santos (Education and Academe)
Ms. Ma. Glenda Dela Fuente (Arts and Culture)
Atty. Marieglo Damocles (Legal Affairs and Public Relations)
Pssgt. Lotes F. Biscara (Military and Defense)

Ms. Annie Panaga (Persons with Disabilities)
Margarita Rosales (Indigenous Group)
Ms. Rosalie Cruz (Natatanging Ina - Single Parent)

Awardees, dressed in formal Filipiniana and cultural attire, were given a tribute and presented with the Dakilang Kababaihan trophy and a certificate during the recognition rites, witnessed by their families and loved ones. Each of them delivered an acknowledgment and appreciation speech.

Limay Polytechnic College and the Local Government of Limay, through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, salute the awardees in honor and recognition of their service advocacies, social impact, great role, and commitment to women's empowerment.
