Dr. De Leon delivers lecture in CODTE 5 general assembly

Dr. Elmer B. de Leon, LPC President and Vice President of the Philippine Association for Teachers and Educators (PAFTE), a frontline teacher education organization in the country, served as the resource speaker in the General Assembly of the Council of Deans of Teacher Education Region 5 (CODTE 5) on March 24, 2023, at Ysabelle's Function Hall, Legazpi City. The event was themed "Teaching Profession: Rebranding for Change and Relevance; Delving on Research for Capacity Building" and was attended by deans and faculty members of various teacher education institutions (TEIs) in the Bicol region.
Dr. De Leon emphasized the importance of empowering academic heads and teachers with effective teaching strategies and research methodologies to enhance the overall productivity and quality of teacher education in the country. He also expressed his sincere commitment to assisting the region in achieving its goal of improving teacher education through impact-based instruction, research, board examination preparation, and quality assurance mechanisms.
Following the seminar, the Committee shared the impressive evaluation results, highlighting the resource speaker’s valuable insights. Participants strongly advocated for the continuation of the initiative to further develop the necessary competencies in teacher education. Given this positive feedback, Dr. De Leon may return in the future to address the growing needs of both in-service and pre-service teachers.
